Nikki has been teaching dance for over 25 years, and is a body development, coordination & movement specialist. She holds certification through the Canadian Dance Teachers Association (CDTA), and is a Certified Acrobatic Arts instructor. She is also a certified yoga teacher, registered with the Yoga Alliance.
Her specialization in bodies and movement come from; training in and instructing dance for 40 years, working in the dance industry for over 25 years, being a dance studio owner for 23 years, creating her own Performing Arts Syllabus for Pre Schoolers and studying Hanna Somatic Education. Nikki discovered Hanna Somatic Education after suffering a hip injury in 2013. Unfortunately this injury led to chronic pain, and ultimately to her having to sell her very successful studio. Hanna Somatics was the only thing she was able to do to help with her daily pain. Mastering the techniques of Hanna Somatics has helped her to live with her condition and restore freedom of movement in her body.
Nikki now teaches Hanna Somatics classes and workshops in various locations across Canada and the United States and has also developed a professional Somatic Exercise Teacher Training Program. She is currently teaching this program in various locations across Canada. She also offers private one on one clinical sessions online or in person.
